CCS Insight was quoted in this article about the growing impact of Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, expected to soon turn the mobile phone into a do-it-all device.
“The real advantage is the potential to combine transactions with deals, coupons or location-based advertising,” says Digantam Gurung, an analyst at CCS Insight. It is no coincidence that Facebook has been investing in location-based deals, last week hiring the entire team behind Gowalla, a rival to the so-called “check-in” service Foursquare.
