Shaun Collins has a strong track record in the global wireless equipment manufacturing business, having held a number of senior sales and service roles in the UK, Europe and the US. Shaun was European account director for Motorola at a time when the industry was moving from analogue to digital technology. He founded CCS Insight in 1993 and the company has achieved rapid and sustained growth, doubling revenue during the past four years.
Michael Walker is an entrepreneur with considerable experience of leading acquisitions, company restructuring, and start-ups in the wireless, telecoms and electronics industries, including IPOs in the UK and Hong Kong. He has experience in all major world markets, particularly Europe, India and the Asia/Pacific region. He was managing director of Bush Radio and vice president of Champion Technology Holdings, a global telecommunications company, where he was responsible for 51 countries. Michael also has extensive experience of the leisure and entertainment industries.
Ben Wood joined CCS Insight in May 2006. He has more than 14 years' experience in the mobile sector, most recently as research vice president for mobile devices at Gartner, where he led a global team of analysts. Prior to that he was director of Mobile Streams, which was recently floated on AIM; he spent three years at Lucent Technologies, with a focus on advanced wireless applications for 2.5G and 3G networks; and spent three years at Vodafone, where he was involved in launching SMS and mobile data. Ben is a respected industry commentator, quoted regularly in publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times and Business Week, and has appeared on business programmes for CNBC, CNN and the BBC.
John Jackson is a well-known and respected analyst specializing in mobile and wireless technologies. Additional areas of focus include application development and delivery platforms, device manufacturing and distribution strategies, and device management. Before joining CCS Insight, John was vice president of Yankee Group's Wireless/Mobile Technologies Decision Service, where he researched a range of topics, including devices, infrastructure, regulations and standards. In 2003, John conceived and launched a service that tracks the performance and market share of the top six handset manufacturers. Prior to Yankee Group, John spent two years at Chase Manhattan, and five years at a small research firm focusing on competitive market analysis.
Geoff Blaber joined CCS Insight in April 2007 from IDC where he worked with many of the leading mobile communications companies, establishing a reputation for informed qualitative analysis on industry dynamics, trends, developments, vendor strategies, product positioning, segmentation and market forecasts. Prior to that, Geoff worked for a consultancy division of Atkins, providing research and advisory services about the application of telecoms in the commercial property sector; and for Competitive Intelligence and Consultancy, where he specialised in EMEA and North American IT and mobile device markets. Geoff's focus at CCS Insight is on mobile devices, particularly entry-level products and enterprise mobility.
Paolo Pescatore joined CCS Insight in November 2007. He has more than 10 years' experience in the mobile sector. Prior to joining CCS Insight, Paolo was a research manager at IDC, responsible for mobile consumer research across Europe. Before joining IDC he was at Ovum, where he covered a broad spectrum of mobile and wireless topics for two years. Paolo is a well-regarded thought leader in the mobile industry. At CCS Insight he leads research on operator strategy, wireless applications and mobile content.
Martin Garner is a well-known figure in the mobile industry. He was director of wireless at Ovum and one of the firm's most senior analysts, where he built up the wireless practice and went on to establish the Wireless Intelligence joint venture with the GSM Association. During this time he built a strong reputation within the mobile industry and became a prominent commentator, recognised for his incisive opinions and insightful research. After leaving Ovum he established Commvine, a consultancy practice focused on Internet services and experiences. At CCS Insight, Martin continues his focus on these areas.
Thomas Reuner joined CCS Insight in September 2008 from IDC, where he held the position of EMEA Strategic Consulting Partner. His deep understanding of the dynamics of the IT market comes from senior positions with Gartner, NelsonHall and KPMG Consulting. With more than 11 years' experience, Tom focuses on hardware markets (especially mobile computing), IT services and sourcing strategies. He's a frequent keynote speaker at industry conferences and is often quoted by the German business media. At CCS Insight, Tom leads the consulting practice as well as helping clients solve convergence problems.
Robert Caunt joined CCS Insight in March 2008. As the company's content manager, he's responsible for all publications, including the weekly Hotline, presentations and special reports. He also manages a growing archive of research material and coordinates the company's blog. Robert has over 20 years' experience in the publishing industry. He came to CCS Insight from Gartner, where he was a senior business writer.
Digantam Gurung previously researched voice technology in Germany for a consultancy company, including interactive voice response systems for call centres, voice biometrics and voice-activated applications for mobile devices. Prior to that, he worked as a business and political journalist in Nepal, writing for the Nepali Times, and Boss and Vow magazines. At CCS Insight his responsibilities include price analysis, and handling CCS Insight's media enquiries and Web-related activities.
