An update from our founder, Shaun Collins
When I started what would become CCS Insight back in 1993, I had little idea it would evolve from a small consultancy to a multimillion-pound international research and advisory business with offices in London and California. I’m extremely proud of what we’ve achieved so far.
In recent years, our hard work has helped us deliver growth, and I’m grateful to our customers for all their support. Revenue has regularly achieved 20% quarterly increases since 2018, and our headcount has risen 30% in the past 12 months as CCS Insight has continued to invest throughout the pandemic.
With this in mind, I’m determined that the business will continue growing. To support this goal, I’m delighted to announce that our board has appointed Geoff Blaber as the new CEO of CCS Insight.
I’m thrilled to pass on the baton to Geoff. After several years building up our North American division in California, he recently returned to the UK, where he will lead the company from CCS Insight’s offices in London.
I have become Executive Chairman and will remain actively involved in the day-to-day business, working with our long-standing clients and supporting Geoff as he drives the company forward into new markets and research areas.
Geoff will be supported by the existing leadership team, comprising Ben Wood, who is promoted to Chief Analyst and Chief Marketing Officer; Martin Garner, Chief Operating Officer; and Paul Campbell, Chief Commercial Officer. Michael Walker continues his role as a non-executive director.
Although CCS Insight is best known for our consumer-centric research, over the past few years we have worked hard to strengthen our enterprise division, including by bringing Creative Intellect Consulting into CCS Insight in 2019. Recognizing that our enterprise research is essential to future growth, Nick McQuire has been appointed as Chief of Research, Enterprise.
CCS Insight also continues to invest in other areas.
We recently enhanced our connected devices research by adding a cost benchmarking and teardown analysis team, based in the US. This new part of the business is being led by highly respected analyst Wayne Lam. Wayne and his team have more than 25 years of experience providing detailed cost and technical analysis of smartphones, wearables, network infrastructure equipment, automobiles and more. I believe this will provide a valuable new service to support existing and new clients in the months ahead.
We also remain strongly committed to developing the next generation of technology analysts. Having hired several graduates in the past, we’ve now set up a dedicated graduate trainee scheme, and our first recruit, Isabel Towell, has already been with us for several months. Our programme lays out a comprehensive path for graduates to join the company and work in all areas of the business on a rotational basis. I’m confident that the scheme will create a strong stream of top talent to help meet our expectations for growth in 2021 and beyond.
I hope you’ll join me in congratulating Geoff, Ben and the wider CCS Insight team on these developments. The world is a turbulent place right now, but I’m extremely proud that our business continues to evolve, and I look forward to continuing working with you for many years to come.
Best regards,
Shaun
