FDM CCS Insight Appoints John Milliken as CEO to Lead AI-Driven Innovation and Market Expansion
Former Defaqto CEO to spearhead AI-driven growth strategy; predecessor Shaun Collins transitions to President to oversee senior industry relationships for the Inflexion-backed telecom data leader.
London, 15 June 2026: FDM CCS Insight today announced the appointment of John Milliken as Chief Executive Officer to lead the company in its next phase of growth. This key appointment underscores the company’s commitment to delivering mission-critical products, building its unique datasets, advanced analytics, and strategic consulting capabilities. By embedding technologies such as AI into its core offerings, FDM CCS Insight aims to enhance the commercial value it delivers to customers and provide greater predictive insight in a rapidly evolving telecommunications and connected devices market.
This strategic transition coincides with Shaun Collins, the former CEO, becoming President of FDM CCS Insight. In this role, Collins will serve as a non-executive board member and key advisor, focusing specifically on cultivating and expanding the business’s exceptional, senior-level relationships across the global telecommunications industry. This structure ensures continuity of key client partnerships.
Milliken brings nearly 30 years of experience leading and scaling international software and data businesses. Most recently, as CEO of Defaqto, he successfully doubled the size of the financial data and ratings business over a five-year tenure. His extensive background spans major telecom operations (including O2), global mobile payments (Monitise), and scaling advanced speech recognition and AI infrastructure at Cambridge-based Speechmatics. His experience in product development, AI deployment, and active mergers and acquisitions aligns directly with the company’s expansion goals.
The appointment reflects the company’s ambitions for continued expansion in a competitive market. Following the successful acquisition and integration of CCS Insight into FDM in August 2025, the combined entity has already established a strong market position. FDM CCS Insight is poised to strengthen its position in the market over the short- to medium-term by rapidly expanding its customer base, accelerating product lifecycles, and actively evaluating additional strategic acquisitions to support continued market-share growth.
Commenting on his appointment, John Milliken, said: “Data is the defining asset of the modern telecoms landscape, and FDM CCS Insight is uniquely positioned at its centre. Given the company’s ambitions to deliver even greater value to clients through industry-leading data, comprehensive software platforms and AI, I am excited to join the company as it embarks on its next phase of growth.”
Shaun Collins noted: “I am delighted to welcome John to FDM CCS Insight. His track record of scaling data businesses through robust product innovation and M&A makes him the ideal leader for this next chapter. Bringing FDM and CCS Insight together has been an exciting challenge, and I look forward to continuing to support the team in my new role as President and non-executive board member.”
