FDM CCS Insight Launches Industry-First UK Network Panel

New dataset delivers unprecedented visibility into UK broadband market performance, regional trends and adoption of fibre to the premises (FTTP).

London, 24 June 2026: FDM CCS Insight, a leading technology data and insight firm, has announced the launch of its Network Panel, a unique dataset providing the first regional view of fixed-broadband connections in the UK.

The FDM CCS Insight Network Panel tracks connections and disconnections on all major fixed-line networks, delivering detailed visibility into market performance at a national and, importantly, regional level. Built on more than two years of historical data, the panel enables operators, investors and industry watchers to benchmark performance and identify emerging trends in the increasingly competitive fixed-broadband market.

The launch comes at a critical time for the UK broadband market, with network operators accelerating the roll-out of FTTP, expanding their footprint and competing aggressively for customers.

Key Findings:

  • Connections taking a broadband package at 800 Mbps or higher grew by more than 75% year-on-year in five out of 11 ONS regions.
  • Eight out of 11 ONS regions saw the number of 0-149 Mbps connections decline by over 20% in the past 12 months. Every region saw connections at this entry-level speed decline by at least 10%.
  • 33% of connections in London were packages at 800 Mbps or greater. This was six percentage points higher than the second-placed ONS region, the South East, at 27%. This is driven by providers in London offering some of the lowest prices for higher-speed packages in the country, according to FDM CCS Insight’s Pricing Data.
  • Despite having a lower volume of connections, the North East saw significant growth in high-speed sign-ups. Connections at 401-800 Mbps grew 42% year-on-year and packages offering 800 Mbps or higher increased 87%.

Note that UK ONS regions included in this research are: North East, North West Yorkshire and The Humber, East Midlands, West Midlands, East of England, London, South East, South West, Wales and Scotland. Northern Ireland is not included in phase one of the panel but will be added in later iterations.
