Programme
Over the course of two days, our Predictions event explored how emerging technologies in areas such as connectivity, artificial intelligence, and spatial computing were set to reshape industries and everyday life. We delved into how these advancements could revolutionise healthcare, transform the way we connect, and create exciting new opportunities for businesses and consumers alike.
Day One: 8 October – AI, Regulation and Spatial Computing
Day one of our Predictions event examined the rapid rise of AI, fuelled by significant investments, and how AI models and on-device technologies would shape digital experiences by 2025. We also explored the evolving landscape of regulation, with CEO Geoff Blaber delving into the impact of the EU’s Digital Markets Act and the influence of geopolitics on tech players. Lastly, we delved into spatial computing, assessing how advancements in gesture-based interfaces, AI in wearables, and augmented reality smart glasses would fundamentally change the way people interact with technology.
Day Two: 9 October (from 10 AM) – Connectivity, Networks, Health and AI
Day two of Predictions delved into connectivity and networks, with our analysts unpacking innovative developments in connectivity, from Open RAN and 5G RedCap to 6G, eSIM, and fixed wireless access. We explored how these emerging technologies would shape the market in the coming years. Additionally, we examined the intersection of health and AI, highlighting how AI-driven innovations in wearables would transform personal healthcare and place greater focus on employee well-being.

On day one we were joined by Annika Bizon, Director of Marketing and Omnichannel and Head of Ireland — MX Division at Samsung UK, for an executive interview to discuss the company’s device strategy including developments with foldable smartphones, entry into the smart ring market and integration of Galaxy AI across its ecosystem.
Audrey Scozzaro Ferrazzini — Vice President of Government Affairs at Qualcomm
Audrey Scozzaro Ferrazzini, Vice President of Government Affairs at Qualcomm, joined us on day one to offer an industry perspective on the regulatory environment. As companies adjusted to recent legislation such as the EU’s Digital Markets Act and the looming AI Act, Audrey shared her vision on how these regulations affected the industry, including key insights for navigating opportunities for innovation and growth within this evolving regulatory framework.
Stefan Streit — Chief Marketing Officer at TCL Europe
On day two, Stefan Streit, Chief Marketing Officer at TCL, discussed trends in the device market, from digital ethics and well-being to the latest in screen innovation. The ethical use of technology was a key topic, and Stefan provided insights into digital detox trends and hardware innovations, including TCL’s Nxtpaper screen technology. Our discussion explored the evolving dynamics in the consumer devices industry, unpacking device-makers’ strategies and consumer behaviours.
Marc Allera — CEO of EE
Marc Allera, CEO at EE, joined us for an executive interview on day two, offering his insights on recent and future developments in the telecom industry. As the market evolved with rapid technological advancements and shifting consumer needs, Marc considered the impact of emerging trends in 5G standalone and generative AI, as well as concerns related to children’s use of smartphones. The session examined how these developments were shaping opportunities for telecom operators and offered perspectives on navigating this dynamic environment.
